User Interface/Usability Architect
Position Overview:
Employ behavior-based design in all software products. Understand the users of the product being designed. Research the demographic, target market, industry, usage trends and standards to build a software product that works. Leverage software ergonomics such as eye-tracking, click testing, readability patterns, conversion funnels and human psychology semantics to create the best performing and usable software solutions for web and mobile software systems. Continue our design team’s achievement in winning regional and national awards.
Ensure that a user interface complies with accessibility standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) when a client requests such compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop interfaces for web and mobile software and systems.
- Work with each client to design an interface that satisfies that client’s business objectives while leveraging best practices and human psychology considerations.
- Work with the business analyst to implement user ergonomics from the use cases and system flows.
- Leverage interactive framework patterns and system functional requirements to achieve a professional design solution.
- Work with the developers to implement wireframes and click-throughs.
- Assist with testing both the beta version and final UI.
- Address client requests for ADA compliance in UI design.
Qualifications:
- BA+ UI Architecture, Psychology or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in UI design and implementation.
- Understanding of and experience with UI frameworks , such as YUI, jQuery, and Dojo.
- Working knowledge of advanced JavaScript, (X)HTML ,HTML 5, CSS and XSL/XSLT.
- In-depth knowledge of Web standards (W3C), best practices, and cross-browser issues.
- Skills in Graphic Design (Photoshop, Fireworks).
- Working knowledge of iOS/Android and both phone and tablet devices.
